  • Recently in the state of California, drug overdose deaths have raised dramatically, according to many recent news reports. In one instance, a 19-year old Army recruit, who had just recently passed his military physical, took a handful and Xanax and went out drinking with several friends; this person did not ever get the opportunity to serve in the military, as he was subsequently found dead in his vehicle the next morning.
  • Alcohol destroys brain cells and unlike many other types of cells in the body, brain cells cannot regenerate themselves.
  • Individuals that use Xanax recreationally and illicitly often crave the euphoric calm that it brings; a high which can be enhanced when the drug is crushed and the powder is inhaled.
  • Histamines which are released by methadone can cause hypotension or bronchospasms.
  • As of 2004 the rates of methamphetamine use were highest in western states in the U.S., particularly in California, Nevada, Wyoming, and Montana.
