  • Chronic abuse of alcohol can reduce the amount of digestive enzymes secreted by the pancreas which can cause inflammation and leaking digestive enzymes, which subsequently may attack the pancreas itself.
  • Alcohol withdrawal symptoms including sleep and mood changes and fatigue can last for several weeks.
  • Birth control pills can slow down the process by which alcohol is eliminated from the body.
  • Currently in the United States, there is very little funding for overdose prevention; unfortunately, the overdose epidemic continues to escalate as the federal grants for these types of preventative programs are not being approved for funding.
