  • Researchers have reported that in order for a person to consume enough marijuana to experience a fatal overdose, they would have to consume almost 40,000 times the amount of THC (the active ingredient in marijuana) required to intoxicate them. For example, if it took an individual 10 hits to become intoxicated, it would take 400,000 hits of marijuana to produce a fatal overdose.

Limited Hospitalization/Day Treatment Programs

Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of recovery program which works to treat substance abuse issues and mental health conditions which may be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the individual in treatment participates in a variety of recovery activities and techniques during the day and then returns home in the evening. This takes place anywhere from five to seven days a week, depending on the seriousness of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be beneficial for addicted individuals who may not be able to afford long-term inpatient care, or who are unable to be away from their families for prolonged periods of time. While in Day Treatment, clients participate in standard counseling and therapy for addiction issues while also addressing mental health troubles which could keep them from staying sober once treatment is complete.
